You can make a cross,, add height and width of your arc,, pull a tape measure down the middle and lock it.. hook a second tape measure to the width on one side.. then swing it up over the other tape measure until the numbers are the same.. That is how you find the radius mechanically.,. without math.. ima genius kinda. .

then to draw your arc you set a nail at the axis,, pull a tape off the naiul, lock your tape at the radius and push the tape measure body with a pencil.. marking your plywood or whatever..

So you can try and explain shit to femons until they are blue in the face literally. This professor friend of mine, told me about Huygens approximation.. I tried it ,, the name being deceiving it was VERY accurate..
