When I was about 5, I went to work with an uncle who worked in a steel mill in Western Australia.... More because I was little, the place was fucking HUGE...... I mean it was really really fucking big, not as big as the Korean place..... And I could only be taken to "safer and out of the way areas" and not into the foundry bits....
So I got to see some of the rolling mills and cooling sheds etc...
Huge bars of red hot steel go in at one end of the rolling mills at 20 miles an hour and and BIG flat ribbons of red hot steel - come shooting out of the rollers at 90 miles an hour at the other end type stuff....
( Making those numbers up a bit - but hey I was 5 OK )
