Secret Service to boost Trump protection ‘given recent events’

The US Secret Service is enhancing security for former President Donald Trump following an assassination attempt just two months after a previous incident. An agency official told NBC that protective measures have been intensified in light of recent events.

‘Given recent events, the Secret Service is taking a heightened posture in its protection of the former president,’ the official said.

Increased security was evident when Trump arrived in Pennsylvania, with a Secret Service agent closely following him.
