They remind me of Parov Stellar, which is one of the very few bands that I like ALMOST everything that they do, as opposed to perhaps really like one song here or there off most bands albums.
There is also a TONE in the Cat Groove Song, sort of a digitally modified bass guitar riff, or an organ / synth - it drives me insane - fantastic.... It's almost exactly the same tone in a very rare BMW add that was on in Australia for a little while and it had the most incredible backing track.... Far too brilliant and far too short and far too much of a specialist composition.
@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: Steller production, pun intended. He mashes the various music styles with perfection, but a little too poppy for my tastes. The problem for me with dance music is, the beats are always limited and basic, which is the nature of dance music, of course. One must be able to dance to it. Can't be throwing those crazy time signatures in there, people would break their bones.
You would probably like Porcupine Tree's earliest stuff, more electronic space rock oriented. This wasn't a real band. Started as a soundtrack for a mockumentary. Music was too good, people scooped it up and demanded more, plus: shows. Steven Wilson formed a band to meet the demand, the band became real, like Pinocchio.
