Several Ukrainian servicemen and border guards surrender

Russia’s Ministry of Defense has published footage of several Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel laying down their arms amid the ongoing crisis in the country. Being interviewed, one soldier says he decided to surrender in order to save ‘the guys who had just joined the battalion,’ while another called on his colleagues to do the same, ‘and we will all remain alive and go home soon.’

According to a Ministry of Defense report, around 150 servicemen from various Ukrainian agencies have so far surrendered. The troops who have laid down their arms are assured they will be treated with respect, and released home when hostilities are over.
