I first saw the original Star Wars following my high school graduation luncheon in downtown Chicago, back in '77. A couple of my friends and I walked into the theater during the infamous "Bar Scene". We laughed so hard (Did I mention we smoked a couple of joints before entering the theater? Lol!), we had to walk back out into the lobby to gather ourselves, before enjoying the rest of the movie. Those were the days. Lol!
That sheds a whole new light on something I wondered about for years. I've read all of George Lucas's treatments of the script for "Star Wars" up to the final draft. They are all wildly different with the exception of the "cantina bar scene." It was in all of them almost unchanged. I wondered why and now I know...he was probably baked when he wrote it and knew it was essential!
@SoloMan Zone: I saw it as a kid and Star Wars likely launched me into SciFi as an enjorer and writer and a scientist career field, well while it lasted...

Excellent. You should do a remake of Jedi (Episode VI), the one from the original trilogy I can't sit through anymore.
