Steam Burns - Stupid?

Yeah not sure of everything, but fucking around with the steam from kettles and pots of boiling water on the stove, lead me to the conclusion that anything HOT and STEAMY shooting out from the side of a steam engine motor, probably should be given a fairly wide berth..... That is the hot gas side of things. My old man was privvy to an engineer in a naval boiler room, walking through a pin hole leak of super heated steam, and the jet was like 420*C and it was invisible - and the guy walked into the jet and it cut him in half..... So with the technology of steam super heating and all is or was on steam locomotives.... maybe on this model locomotive, maybe not.... the VERY HOT low pressure scalding steam - Naaaa not just pretty clouds... Could be burning your skin off....
