Red Deer are a big problem in New Zealand. Recrational hunting pressure is not enough to keep them under control in the back blocks. The haydays of the early 1970s to 1980s are gone. Deer Farming is well established and while live capture still happens sometimes a bloke or two just have to go in and thin the herds.
This is one little video about that.

This is only a few years ago. Look up the 'Deer Wars'. 1970-1980 roughly it was Cowboy roughneck territory with wars in the air as well as on the ground and not all against Deer. lot of guys died in pursuit of the mighty dollar.

@SQUEAK077: Actually I was thinking of My Friend Ed In Vietnam he Flew Through enemy fire Many times to get his Brothers out from behind enemy lines . One of our true Heroes . I'm proud to call him Friend .
