The young sat around and waited for the elders to do all the work and there was not enough to go around when winter came. The following year the colony gave up on the "communist" concept and issued each person land that had to be worked. If you did not work, you did not eat. That is a Christian loonie concept of capitalism. 2 Thessalonians 3: 10.

@Duugus: Interesting.. I´m going to read-up on the early fase of settlement - I´ve only ever studied the post-1776 period, hence my knowledge of the US before independence is rather limited. Was this "common share" something like the catholic "distributionist" concept?

@MGTOW_Viking: It may have had its roots there. In the book of ACTS, the Apostle Paul is always bringing back donations to the poor in Jerusalem. The reason for this is that when you became a Christian you were thrown out ot the synagogue. Which meant you were not allowed to buy or sell which caused many to lose their property for lack of tax money and their livelihood. It is said that "they had all things in common". The first communist were commies out of desperation, being forced into poverty.

The 2020´s will determine the rest of the 21st century.. if the current deep state structure in the USA does not fall, we´re in for decades of direct tyranny never seen before - and with modern surveillance technology, those that control it will be very difficult to dislodge!
