In the start - at exactly 24 seconds the chef picks up a HUGE bowl of mushrooms - meant to indicate magic mushrooms - hence the guys give a funny look at the bowls of food they are eating and soon nod off into a hallucogenic dream / state.

Clarifying the lyrics.

Well, I flipped my wig
In the Valley of the Dolls
Went on a teenage rampage
What a trip, trip, trip
This psychedelic retro
That they don't understand
Open up your mind
Button up your lip, lip, lip

Explainations:

Well, I flipped my wig
In the Valley of the Dolls

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/....Valley_of_the_Dolls_

"Valley of the Dolls is a 1967 American drama film starring Barbara Parkins, Patty Duke, Sharon Tate, Susan Hayward, Paul Burke, and Lee Grant. It was directed by Mark Robson, and produced by David Weisbart. Based on Jacqueline Susann's 1966 novel Valley of the Dolls, it follows three women struggling to forge careers in the entertainment industry, each of them descending into barbiturate addiction—"dolls" being a slang term for depressant pills or "downers".[4] "

Went on a teenage rampage
What a trip, trip, trip

(Getting into the 60's and 70's use of LSD)

This psychedelic retro
That they don't understand

Young modern people getting all into digging up shit from the 60's (e.g. Purple Haze = Jimmy Hendrix etc)

Open up your mind
Button up your lip, lip, lip

Getting stoned blows your mind and fucks up your ability to communicate

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
’Cause I'm sick of conversations
With people I despise
I'm sick of free love
And always quenching my desires
I’m sick of "groovy"
"Dig it" and "like wow!"
I'm sick of it all
I want to crush, kill, destroy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Explainations:

People doing drugs are full of shit...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I want to spill the blood of a hippy
I'm eager to stone a stoned child from the '60s
I want (I want)
A switchblade
To cut their love beads
An enema (Enema, enema)
Not love
That's what the world needs now
An enema (Enema, enema)
My body is a temple
It's a sacred site
She's chanting mantras, she's a loser
Lost in space, space, space
She’s jacked into the junk
She’s got a velvet head
She's not just high on life
She’s off her face, face, face
Taking Heroin IV - Jacking up = shooting up = Junk = Heroin = Thus Junkie.
She’s got a velvet head
Velvet = was a term for heroin addicts -
She's not just high on life
She’s off her face, face, face
"Alice when she's ten foot tall"
"White Rabbit" is a song written by Grace Slick and recorded by the American rock band Jefferson Airplane for their 1967 album Surrealistic Pillow. It draws on imagery from Lewis Carroll's 1865 book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its 1871 sequel Through the Looking-Glass.
It was released as a single and became the band's second top-10 success, peaking at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was ranked number 478 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in 2004, number 483 in 2010, and number 455 in 2021 and appears on The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.
Do you want me to explain the drug culture metaphores? It's got lots of interesting detail.... Some due to the lack of high quality video and most due to the loss of details in a historical sense, from the events preceeding the time it was written in.
@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: In 1990 I was 13, and I was never into the drug scene, so some of the finer nuances were lost on me!
THIS song is one of the hardest to use a little bit of for a backing track - because the whole song is just a master piece of variety, colour and seamless integration... and it flows continuously - I had to just pick the bits I really wanted and then fade them in and then out... The music is just too good, all throughout.
