I just find the holy sepulcher & read about the immovable ladder in an attempt to actually google up this place. I'd say, it doesn't make sense of a place so significant to the Christians will be so abandoned & not mentioned. So because it's an Orthodox tradition?
A while ago, I came across a British documentary suggesting the Roman persecution of the Christians were exaggerated & how the Romans were more cool with Christianity than we were led to believe & using art as evidence. Fish, Anchor, Sator inscriptions, ruins in Antioch, etc. etc. interesting stuff.

The holy sepulcher in the old city of Jerusalem.. Is a total fraud.. A big mascarade.. I've been there.. There was such a bad energy.. There's even a Box there with the so called " bones of Jesus " which is bullshit.. But people wait in a long queue for hours sometime just to kneel there and kiss a stone something in that genre.. It's idolatry.. The dead body of jesus has never been found.. Then you have to see all the masonic and pagan symbols in that church.. The sun for example which is a reference to the false God (Demon) Baal aka Satan.. All kind of absurd things you see in there.. People kiss a stone because they believe the corpse of Jesus was on that stone.. Which is questionnable.. But when you enter the church you see these people praying in front of the stone, they kiss the stone, all kind of things.. The real tomb of Jesus is outside the old city of Jerusalem.. Called The garden Tomb.. Golgotha.. It's a place of peace.. Everyone is friendly.. There's an incredible good energy there.. And I really do mean a GOOD energy ! A beautiful garden with flowers and trees.. People who sing songs, pray together and read the bible.. That's how I knew it was there.. Be careful with some of these documentaries because they tend to mislead a lot.. The informations are not always correct.. There was a dark period for the Christians.. And many have been persecuted.. But not in every parts of the Roman Empire.. Till this day the most persecuted are still the Christians.. But Peter ( " Saint " Peter) is the one who started the uprising of Chirstians.. Jews were persecuted by the Christians during the revolutions.. and I think the first kind of Christian revolution happened in Alexandria, Egypt... And they won the revolution and then pushed the Romans to abandon paganism and become Christians.. With a sword probably behind their neck for some... Jews were expelled once again.. It devided the Roman empire.. Some couldn't accept that kind of new Christian Romano Empire.. And that's why in some places Christians were systematically persecuted by the Roman's. It was probably a measure to preserve their culture and the foundation of their empire that lasted for a long period.. That's why a great amount of Christians were persecuted... Like Nazi Germany did in the 40s with the Jews, gypsies, etc.. They gased, and killed Millions in 5 years.. The Roman empire killed much more in a larger amount of time, centuries in this case.. Nobody knew exactly how much Christians died during that period, there's not enough data about the subject.. That's why everyone has a different version..

@Doggk: Sounds awesome. I can't even travel to the next country. If I have a 1st world country paycheck, I'd love to visit Syria & the holy land. I don't think that will ever happen in my life time but still. Anyway, I'm not denying Christian persecution. History made it extremely clear it really happened. What modern historians are saying, is that it does not happen as much as we were led to believe. Like the evilness of Emperor Nero. The guy wasn't even in Rome when it burns. When the news reached him, he rushed back & organize efforts to put out fires & handing out food. So why do we hate him? He blamed the Christians for the fire & amped up the persecution. He started collecting all sorts of taxes, his new palace took 1 portion of the entire city to himself with a giant golden statue of himself right in front of it so people think he's spending money on himself. The reasons I keep hearing the most about why Christians were persecuted were that they don't want to serve in the military & don't acknowledge the authority of the emperor (I imagine it's because the Christians refused to follow the emperor cult, a pretty big minor religion in the empire). I also heard the story about Julian the apostate, I can understand why he thinks Christianity is a problematic religion. The Christian priests can't even agree on the nature of god & Jesus & keeps demanding for privilege. For a religion that is about peace, love & charity, the priests were anything but. That's why he wanted to revert the empire to the pagan roots, he got assassinated for it & the assassin was declared saint. I know, I know, Christianity has changed a lot for the better since then. All I'm saying is that I can see why the Romans would have a problem with the Christians. Just like how I can understand why the Jews would hate Christianity. Jesus can't be god, that's just wrong to them. Doesn't justify the disrespect but still.

Those who vandalize place of worship were probably thinking they were doing good. Some sort of 'holy war'. This is why we can't have nice things and there will be no peace. Thanks for this exposure Doggk. I have never seen a hybrid menorah fish symbol before.

I've seen that place but at the time I didn't know it was one of the first churches.. I learned about it years later.. It was trashed too when I saw it for the first time.. People threw all kind of trash and even bread.. I guess to attract rats etc.. The one vandalazing are not Palestinian but Jews... Because Palestinians are not alowed to go to the mount zion (City of david)..
