The Lighthouse Stevensons

In the opening image, there are two rings around the base of the light house...... The bottom is the high tide mark ~ 2 meters high above the rocks above the base, and the second is the typical wave splashing mark. - 1 to 2 meters high.

That would be a good place to live too... Go out at most low tides and gather fresh mussles and shell fish..... a 20cm wide strip across the rocks of progressive harvesting every day... and using a few of them as bait on a few fishing lines.... and the rest in the pot with pickling, smoking, frying, assorted sauces etc.... AND being out there, the supply of fresh vegetables and meat and tinned stuff, would be a real treat.... Have you ever lived at the sea and harvested fresh sea food?

I like the chick though - she is nice.....
