That pussy who decided to take on 17 year old Kyle Rittenhouse didn't protect his dick. Look where that got him. Just saying...

The particular statement you made, I unfortunately agree with, is that our leadership is a reflection of what we've become as a people. An abysmal state of affairs, no doubt...

Regarding Thorium. The first reason why Thorium was never tried is because it cant produce weapon grade material and because weapon grade material was needed in the cold war, we went with uranium. The second reason why Thorium isnt used today is because the Thorium cycle within the reactor needs a heat exchange system that has high thermal capacity to move the heat around. For that, some sort liquid metal or molten salt is needed that can operate at very high temperatures. This makes the construction very difficult since all the material that would fit the requirements are very corrosive to the mechanical parts, valves, pipes etc and because we ditched Thorium research in favor for Uranium reactors, those problems never were addressed and solved, thus they still persist, which makes it very hard to build a reliable reactor design. Companies and governments are very reluctant to invest the needed money into research to solve those problems because, first, the political climate and a conflict in long term "green energy" strategies and second, other countries like India are already investing in it. So, why wasting money and not just wait until others solve the issues for you? Some are also betting that Fusion will come forward and make Thorium obsolete before any reliable reactor design can be achieved. So, Thorium WOULD be a viable alternative if we had not messed it up decades ago.

", other countries like India are already investing in it." Not being very successfull ,their thorium uses pallets instead of liquid,... second China is going total api shit on thorium and so is the Czech republiek, ... Fusion is just a money sinkhole just like "hydrogen powercell electic cars" fuck that shit, government should stay the fuck out of tech, maybe fund companies a bit like Tesla (after they make an working MVP ) but nothing more then that

@Lucifer333: Right, cant pull out a working Thorium monkey out your hat in just a few years when decades were wasted on the wrong horse. "Big Fusion" as ITER is indeed a giant money sink, I agree. Small companies like "General Fusion" have a much more viable approach but again, Big Fusion is a sunk cost fallacy that Academia holds onto no matter what.

@DisruptiveTimes: Yeah its like academic welfare, professors basicly get big fat EU paycheck (European comission employees dont pay taxes and have huge salaries)
