Btw regarding the Heroquest thing, I will once again reiterate that the ENTIRETY of Pathfinder Second Edition is available FOR FREE on a website called Archives of Nethys. Not the same with D&D, but regardless, PDF's of the books are very easily pirated online. It also tickles me that TFM says people like games like D&D because "number go up" but the irony is that Heroquest, being a very simplified version of D&D (which 5e is already very simplified compared to past iterations), in Heroquest it literally is just "number go up" because further complexity in character progression is too confusing for the children that Heroquest is intended for. If you DON'T want "number go up", you want to play a game like D&D or Pathfinder 2E, which provides many, many options for character progression, personality, goals, relationships, factions, the possibilities are literally endless. Whereas Heroquest has none of these unless you go to great lengths and effort to homebrew them in, because again, the game is literally meant for children.
