The Parable of the Talking Dog

The strength of the pack is the wolf, and the wolf the pack! No dish licking Jackals though.

I wish we could abandon women at a women's centre or euthanize them too..???

I would remind that if the allegory is about males and females, it's not accurate.
You can always take your dog to a shelter and leave it there if you can't or won't take care of it any longer.
Or, you can euthanize it.

And you can actually train your dog and it accepts you as the pack leader (alpha dog, top dog)

But in terms of the false expectations the parable is correct.

The alegory doesnt apply. If the dog was to fool the boy into a legally binding contract, and afterwards bite him and growl every time the boy didnt do what the dog wanted, them it would apply. In the end the dog would terminate unilaterally the contract and activate the penalties for the boy breaching contract.
The dog would get everything, and the boy would get the dog house.

Kidding...

The boy is being lied to by society and the parents. They take advantage of his naivety to engage in behavoir manipulation.
As the boy earns what he wanted, he realized he has been fooled, but the father deceives him again. The bait-and-switch works in the sense that the boy has to resign himself for something he did not call for, but can have some other lesser value, in exchange for continuous payment that was due for something else.
The dog itself does nothing besides licking and showing affection, while the boy has to keep him alive and clean up his shit.
It would be a very apropos alegory, but dogs being faithful ruin it.

Yeah , society is a 'father' (more like a mother though) that tell you , that you are psychotic or just plain evil , if you cant hear the dog talk....that parent is the one who needs to be put down
