Interesting. I long knew that Serpents often refer to rivers such as the Nile and the Amazon. I am writing a fantasy- science fiction like mythic history set of stories where the Seraphim are called Dragons by man and were once their Guardians until well the Dragon Serpent wars. I find it interesting that there are races of snake people...just like there are races rather different species of humans or humanoids.
