Anyone who pretends they can engineer superior humans based on race are deluded morons. Genetics is still in its infancy. Behavioral genetics does not even really exist.

Biological determinism is another mental shortcut for men who are too stupid and/or lazy to deal with the full complexity of reality.

Not that TFM is literally 'wrong' about the cycle of hardship and adaptation in human behavior, but I think it is within the realm of possibility to manage these cycles.

You can create artificial constraints that do not create real harm while still altering behavior for the better.

Human behavior is a jumble of competing and complementary impulses that our brain attempts to create some kind of comprehensive coherency from. We are not contemplative spirits trapped in a physical body, but rather we are that physical body. So it is entirely possible to manage our behavior as a set of interconnected yet still individual components.

For example, you can drop a 'young man' (13-15) off on an island to spend the night with a book of matches, a potato and a cellphone. He knows that in reality he is perfectly safe and no harm will come to him. However, he will still experience the harsh reality that without family and community, he is going to die cold and hungry. That visceral experience will transform his understanding of the world and his resulting behavior, even if he knows that safety is merely one call away.

I know TFM doesn't like sunshine blown up his ass, but it is worth mentioning that people forget how visionary and brave his stance on female behavior is.

While everyone else was blaming jews or capitalists or communists or space lizards, he realized that women are children and letting them vote is a terrible idea.

Even as guys scrambled to excuse women with jewish brainwashing and based tradpilled eastern euros or asians, he stood his ground and said naw theyre all just spoiled kids.

I know I'd still be trying to square the circle of female equality, and I'm sure most listeners are the same. As much as TFM gets wrong in other subjects, his take on the core problem in Western civilization has been consistently flawless and visionary.

@04:50:40 In Mexico, up until very recently, just having a firearm [Usually a handgun] on you out in public/on the street was an instant 10-20 years in prison. If you were caught with what Mexico's govt calls "a long gun" on you in public, in your car or in your house, even if it was disassembled or non-functional, just having it was an instant life sentence no matter the circumstances. However, most people have a (hand) gun in their home to protect against intruders or any threat that may present itself. The extreme penalties were mostly about carrying guns in the street, though even in your home it is illegal to have firearms without a very specialized permit granted by the military.

In any case, even 'if' the firearm is legal/illegal, if someone is/was caught with one in their home by doing something like what TFM says (Shooting an intruder), the chances of that person being arrested, let alone charged with a crime, were/are very low. The police do not enforce that law when it comes to home defense, nor do the judges rule against people in such cases with only very rare exceptions [NOTE: The kind of judges & police that 'do' go after a citizen for that, tend to draw the attention of the narcos (See news stories of police officers/judges/politicians being abducted with their family, slowly chopped to pieces one by one in front of each other till none are left, etc.) and they *really* don't want that]. NOTE: This is part of why a lot of people, myself included, regard the narcos as folk heroes & legends..... because they are the only ones that can hold the tyrants accountable, but also because they typically do not harm regular citizens and are instead known to help local businesses in various ways (Usually dropping massive amounts of cash). Etc. As TFM might phrase it; "POWER CHECKS POWER. WITHOUT A CHECK & BALANCE, YOU GET LIMITLESS TYRANNY."

I guess what I'm saying is....... now more than ever it is clear; Mexico is *less* corrupt than the U.S. (WTF?) and has a higher level of liberty for the citizenry, including when it comes to guns (WTF?!?!).
