@05:09:20 TFM is generally right about what he's saying but there is a far more specific & pertinent reason when it comes to the witcher games; CD projekt red (The company) took a hard turn toward nazi ideology aka woke crap, a few years ago. They went from a beloved indie company & pride of their nation to a fkking embarrassment.

@03:13:12 While TFM is partly right, I think it's also because there is such extreme U.S. govt overreach (tyranny) and medicine is effectively nationalized there. In Mexico roughly 10 years ago & further back, you didn't need a prescription to buy medicine except for things like controlled medicine + a few things here & there. Broadly speaking, you could go to the pharmacy and buy whatever you wanted without needing to go to a medical practitioner for a piece of paper.
.... then the govt decided to pull some BS and made the sale of antibiotics without a prescription illegal across the republic. This changed the cost of a lot of things, not just antibiotics. Suddenly most of the citizenry had to pay a premium to gain access to something that they used to buy directly. Unless you knew a medical practitioner that could hook you up, your costs irreversibly went up. That's just for starters, it fkked a bunch of things up and was getting worse until a new industry was formed. One where medical practitioners worked for a pharmacy and had a small office in the back. Their only job was to (cheaply) write prescriptions for antibiotics when customers wanted some but needed the piece of paper. After that, things started to stabilize but that one change had far reaching effects.
I see the U.S. with it's socialist system of governance (Totalitarianism) and it's no surprise to me that medicine & medical treatment is so expensive. If Mexico passing a law that made antibiotics more expensive/less accessible had such far reaching effects, restricting EVERYTHING like in the U.S. would make the medical professional immeasurably worse as well as far more expensive. This is a microcosm that shows how leftist orthodoxy (nazis/commies) is not just irredeemably vile but also self-destructive nonsense for any/all nations.
