Taiwan is interesting because it is not like it is hawks vs appeasers there. There is actually a huge proportion of the population that wants reunification, though probably under special terms, like with Hong Kong.
I don't really understand where the sudden belligerence comes from, though I'll admit I'm not a Taiwan specialist or anything :P
So we either end up dying in a nuclear war or getting enslaved in the worst technocratic dystopia imaginable, what a time to be alive.
