Jesting aside.... I think the OLD guy is into the not so early stages of brain rot...
They appear to be fully functional - except they are not.
Things just do not register.
Like so.
He is walking along the path into the building - except the area is taped off, the FRESH concrete is WET, and the wet concrete has form work around it, and steel rods - obstructing the path, and the pathway , is incomplete and stops well short of the building it's self.... It looks decidedly like a CONSTRUCTION ZONE.
None of the pieces of the jig saw, are registering..
The lights are on, and no one is home - he has dementia of some description.
