They just want competent workers not indoctrinated crazy dumb people.

"The more problems you solve without involving others, the greater your value." That's true, but only so long as you can *leave* an employer. The last five years of my USAF life I was in an office full of women, about half of which were single mothers. Whenever the boss needed something complicated or difficult done, s/he'd walk past all the women and put that task on my desk. It got to the point where I was putting in 10-12 hour days just to tackle the workload, but everybody else left on time each day. And it didn't matter what I did, I never got any recognition, no respect, no promotions nor rewards--but the single mothers got accolades all day long because "she has kids to support." I documented this over the course of two years, and got chastised for "stalking" my cow-orkers.

It finally got to the point where I stopped work at the end of the duty day and let things founder. Put a dent in my career, but by that point I had to choose between exhausting myself for no reward or preserving my health and taking a hit. I regret nothing.

Yeah what pissed me off was I had a dual degree bachelors and a graduate science degree, two of them Sciences in STEM: I quite definitely down the Math... but, Barry O'Bomber was officially President and forcing hiring of non cis white males... In my field, three years out of the lan means unofficially you are not hirable anymore. . So fuck them. I fell back on my military skills to give jobs and have been trying to bring out my artistic skills but I was plagued with working much over time. . Especially when I was one of the youngest and not effected by The Beer virus...
