I bet she was studying divorce law in preparation for this day.
But, he's not hopeless. Lawyers have to be members in good standing of the bar. He should see what is expected of attorneys who are members of the bar, and what the criteria for disbarring are. It could turn out he can have her disbarred for this!
Relevant to this is one of Briffault's laws. Any benefit a male provides to a female is a gift, no reciprocity can be expected.
If you want to do something like this, she needs to pay your way through school first. It can't work any other way.
