Truck driver rescued after 6 hours in croc-infested waters

There are bad days at work, and then there’s this.

A routine crossing for a trucker in Kenya turned into a daring helicopter rescue from a raging crocodile-infested river, after his truck was swept off the causeway by a sudden flash flood. The driver managed to scramble out of his cab, but was then left perched on top of it for six-and-a-half hours, as rescue attempts failed the water kept rising, and the river’s occupants got hungrier.

Cue Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, known for rescuing elephants and rhinos with their aerial team, who flew in and performed an inch-perfect maneuver, grabbing the driver from the jaws of certain death with just minutes to spare. The truck was ultimately swept into deeper waters, but thanks to some mad helicopter skills, the driver gets to keep on trucking.

Crossing that flooded river was a bad idea from the beginning.

Yeah...... very bad idea..... Well we can see it's very fast flowing and the next question is just how deep it was? I mean the truck has enough weight and the side surface area is up high, so it must have been pretty fucking deep, to have caught enough of the side surface area to have swept it off the cause way....... And he is driving into it and NOT putting 2 and 2 together....? His side window, lets him look down over the front wheel , so he could SEE the huge plough wave, forming around the front wheel... "Ooooooo that's getting a bit deep....." = Reverse.

And if he can start to "feel" the truck start to side slip... Reverse and creep back out...
