UN experts call to lift sanctions on Syria as they hinder recovery

A UN group that recently visited war-torn Syria has called for sanctions to be lifted as they hinder rebuilding prospects.

A former US special envoy to Syria, one of the architects of sanctions on the country, said that the US 'Caesar Act’ makes it easier for Washington to target companies involved in the reconstruction, making Syria’s economic recovery much harder.
