i agree wholeheartedly, the tv i'm using now was back when they were selling it for almost a thousand bucks, i purchased it for 500, but i was stupid and purchased the warranty that was 2 or 3 hundred dollars more, because i didn't trust at the time that this tech would last very long.
over the years, i have seen far better models being sold for only $200, sure mine still works, but if i only i been patient and waited a few years, i would have got one at that same price, but i'm still using this TV even now, and it's still going strong, mine is a LED TV, and i remember reading about LED's and how long they last in comparison to other TV's and that's why i made the purchase.
but when it comes to anything in the digital market including physical tech, i have learned to wait a few or more years before ever purchasing anything new, i use what i own for as long as i can possible.
i still use a cell phone that has the ability to change the battery easily, so it's not like all of these phones that brick when the battery officially dies, if my battery ever goes bad, it will be maybe a few years later, but i have a phone from 2017 that i use and it still works, i also have a phone from 2013 that still works, sure it's a fuck ton slower and doesn't work with a lot of the apps on it, but it can still be used in some way.
my point is, you can get new things for far far cheaper if you are patient and willing to wait it out. people were bitching and moaning about the graphics card prices, but they wanted the best of the best, and at the time the price went up, it was during the crypto mining boom, now that's all over and the price has been dropping significantly, the funny thing about this is that it helped advance tech even further because there was a massive demand to mine crypto at the time.
at the end of the day, don't over pay for this shit, wait it out a while and then make your purchase, things will naturally go down in price when the time is right.
