‘We never refused engaging in peace talks but West and Kiev had no interest in continuing’ - Maria Zakharova

Responding to RT reporter’s question, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented on Russia’s stand on peace talks with Ukraine. She said Moscow never refused the peace talks, but the West and Kiev were not interested in continuing negotiations. ‘They thought they could win on the battlefield and that we could abandon our declared goals’, she added.
