Yup ! They do ^^ Lanna is Chiang Mai right ? Well Lanna is slightly colder than the south of Thailand.. But "COLD" is a great word man !! How dare you hahahaha ^^ I've witnessed REAL COLD in my entire life.. -20°C was the worst I witnessed.. And believe me Lanna is a hot place ! Many westerners know what cold means and for them hot climates is sometimes difficult to handle.. It happens to me too everytime I go to a place where it's like more than 30°C.. It's not easy the first 2 weeks.. Your clothes are wet the minute your put your head outside..Because we are used to low temperatures here in Europe.. Soloman lived in Chiang Ria if my memory is good. For the song, thanks ! I love these Thai remixes ^^

@Doggk: I guess equivalent for Lanna in your context would be something like Brittany or Occitan. Used to be it's own country, now a part of of other country. Lanna is pretty much the entire north. I thought that's like, the whole appeal as to why so many expats want to live there, because it's colder up there, like 0 C in the winter. They can grow stuff like strawberries & tulips up there as well. So yeah, pretty cold up there. But then, I don't live there so I wouldn't really know. But obviously, nowhere near as cold as Europe.

@Pariah: 0°C is nothing for me loool I'm so used to it.. But why these expats want to live there is still a mystery for me.. Myself If I had to live in Thailand.. I would prefer a place in Issan or somewhere near of Bangkok.. Thailand is special for the temperatures because you guys have 30°C the whole year in most places.. What Thais call a winter, is for us a joke lol.. In Brittany (Bretagne in french) North of France it can be -10°C the worst days during winter.. It doesn't last that long but winters in that area last at least 5 months.. with temperatures between ~15 and -15°C.. These last years we had a sweet weather.. But that's probably the consequence of climate change.. Or maybe something worse for later.. Only God knows ;-)

@Doggk: Stereotypically speaking, Lanna people have a lot of good things associtted with them. If you ask me, it's either that, or the climate. Maybe these expats are actually polar bears & penguins pretending to be humans so they just go to the coldest part of the country lol. To be fair, sometimes I wonder if the amount of expats & modernization will destroy the Lanna identity, to be honest. Now that you mention the northeast, i don't understand why would any expats want to live in the northeast (other than for the women), it's hot, barren & desolate. I mean, I understand the cold north is appealing, the sunny beach of the east & the south are appealing, the metropolitan life of the central is appealing. But the hot, desolate plateau of the northeast? Other than women which most Thais considered to be ugly, what else is there in the northeast? lol. Like, yes, it's 30 C pretty much everywhere, but it could go above 45 in the northeast? Wouldn't your body combust from the heat? lol. But really though, I want to know why would anyone wants to go to there (other than women).
