White police officer tells black woman he is 'blacker'

A white Michigan sheriff's deputy was reprimanded after video was revealed showing him telling a black woman he was ‘blacker’ than she was because he is from Detroit. The woman, who had just been struck in the face during an altercation, filed a civil rights complaint with the FBI, according to her attorney.

Since the incident that happened on August 20, the supervisors have since counseled and trained the policeman, the sheriff’s office said, adding that all deputies will receive training in implicit bias and cultural diversity.
