Who is gonna carry the boats?

Ex-military grifters are on another level, because they are coming from an extremely macho environment. "Fake it 'till you make it" is huge in military circles. This guy is clearly lying. The incredible rate at which people lie makes me wonder, are his followers following him because they believe his lies, or because they admire a better liar?

Swing and a miss. A lot of these supposedly genetically-determined things have very little evidence behind them, sometimes even zero. In many fields, genetically determined is the default hypothesis until evidence is presented that it's caused by something else. This is ridiculous, to say the least; scholars should be capable of saying "I don't know", but modern-day scholars apparently can't. This, unfortunately, feeds the fire that is genetic determinism and similar foolishness.

We're starting to wake up to this. For example, we're questioning whether anyone is born gay. Every conclusion must be backed by evidence. The absence of evidence is not evidence of genetic determinism, it is is evidence that work needs to be done.
