Why Adversity Might Be CRUSHING YOU And How To Turn it Around

Hey Bulldogs! John Sonmez from Bulldog Mindset Here, where I teach you how to go from the Victim Mindset to the Bulldog Mindset.

Today I'll go through a comment left by one you guys on one of my videos which does have a good point that we will get into in this video.

Basically what we will be looking at is desensitization how it can hurt you and how it can benefit you, and what's the difference between challenges and adversity that can crush you and hurt you or might benefit you and help you grow.

The basic idea that I shared with you many times is that if you want to improve and stop being nervous and suck at some situations is by putting yourself in those unconformable situations and get repeated exposure and through adversity and challenges you no longer get phased by those events and situations that used to be a huge obstacle in your way, because you will be desensitized to it and develop an immunity to it.

However I got a comment from one of you guys, pointing to some good reasons to whys this process won' actually work and giving examples.

For his argument he mentioned that school for example force us to go through thousands of social interactions over many years, so logically no one should have social anxiety, because we will be desensitized to it by then.

Another example are tests, because we pass so many tests on the course of our school life, we should be desensitize to exams and tests, and stop getting nervous after the first couple of tests that we pass.

There are other situations where it seems repeated exposure to the pain, the challenge, the adversity makes the person only more afraid and anxious.

However there is a difference here!

The difference is, you weren't the one exposing that pain to yourself, it was thrust upon you by others.

The pain that that's thrust upon you has no benefit to you, but you the pain you willingly inject upon yourself causes you to grow.

And that's the key to making that work.

It's not adversity that makes you stronger, better and contently improving but rather YOU facing adversity!

You willingly putting yourself in situations of discomfort, of challenge and adversity and facing it, and responding.

Anyways I'll go more in deep on this subject in this video, but that the key point that you should focus on guys!

The only way to grow is by putting yourself WILLINGLY in those kind of situations that requires you become more skilled, better and grow as a person in order to get out triumphant!
