Well I learned a lot... about the limits of adhesion etc.. and the rubber becoming incompressible - so the bigger brake disks and pads are only better at dumping more heat, but a much larger tyre contact area grips more, simply starting with contact area, so they stop better... two sides of a different coins...... Kind of calculus like ratioing of grip, braking force, brake and tyre temperature ratios, and tyre and atmospheric and road temperatures and brake pad and tyre compound types ...... There is a lot going on...... I remember a premier of NSW Hewson getting a super car, and he was motoring along - had to stop, and his car slid straight up the arse of the car in front - because it was a super car, and the pads and brake disks had to get HOT to actually grip and brake... the pads were cold and they gripped like pilows on a polished floor... = not much brakes.
