Genesis is clear: man was made in God's image, woman was made from man's rib. I.e., woman was not made directly God's image, but indirectly, and she was made to be man's subordinate.
Later writings confirm this and flesh it out. We all know the law of Moses, but apostles' writings in the New Testament also echo it. My favorites are Ephesians 5 and 1 Peter 3.
