@clivemcd: The mathematical and partical physics and the 3D graphics - to simulate how a body moves in an environment was based in part - using a graphical representation of one of these... animated.. not real... @clivemcd: Clive - My Good Friend - You have missed a great deal.... I am mentally trying to dredge up VERY distant memories from OLD internet.... then there is the question of finding it. There was a phase of development where they were using the shaped of modelling dummies, in partical physics to get fluid and human movements like in kicking soccer balls and stumbling and falling etc.. It's so old - IF the videos are still up on the internet... it's a protracted search.....

@clivemcd: It's all in the detail.... Look at the black smoke.... it's appearing as a stream of puffs, not as a stream.

@clivemcd: The sound - sure it's loud and clear... but the car ricochetting between the trucks - the sound should vary, as the car hits different bits and gets progressively smashed in... but it's not... it's a repeating "Boom / Bang, Boom / Bang, Boom / Bang, Boom / Bang" . The skidding soound - it's the same for the trucks and the cars.... their tyres skid and resonate differently... the tyres being a drum of sorts, hooked to the rubbing / scraping of the tyres across the road surface - like a bow on a violin string. They should resonate and screech differently...

Yeah the more I look at it the more its kinda obvious. Also the super convenient camera location. I've been messing with Beam.NG. Very amusing to crash different vehicles with very realistic damage.

@clivemcd: And there are NO sprays of window glass, and the bits from the crash come off in BIG chunks, rather than a spray of mostly small parts... And the way the tanker truck rocks - it seems almost lacking in mass... or completely empty..... When you examin it very closely, in great detail.... its a pretty good rendering or even a possible recreation of a vehicle accident...... AND the particle physics - like the WW2 aircraft combat games, the way the smoke and parts come off the aircraft being shot up... A great many similarities...

@clivemcd: AND she skidding sound, it's not 4 vehicles with individual skid sounds, it's 4 x the same skid sounds, overlaid with different start and end points.....
