Umm in a balls to the wall war - the Soviets had womens combat units, mostly in sniping and not super intense physical attribute roles.

This is a more intelligent use of the resources....

No big back packs and days of marching etc.

A two up team - a few days of food, proper clothing and shelter, and a rifle and some ammo etc..

Light weight, high mobility, short trips, and short duration missions.

The topic ought to consider where the women can best be utilised based upon circumstances and abilities, rather than a universal all in or all out criteria.


"Nadezhda Kolesnikov was a sniper volunteer serving on the Volkhovsky Eastern front in 1943. She was credited with 19 confirmed kills. Like Kolesnikov, a total of 800.000 female combat soldiers fought with the Russian army as snipers, tank gunners, soldiers, machine gunners and even pilots."
