People fall for the family scam and don't get this sort of stuff written down and notarized. Put everything on paper, and if they break the contract, sick lawyers on them. Doesn't matter if it's a stranger or family, not now anyway. If anyone has a problem with making a paper trail, they are planning to burn you. If they have a problem with penalty clauses for breaking the contract, they are planning to break the contract.

I've heard so many horror stories about doing business with family. This mentality that you have to be communist and kumbaya with your family, it only profits evil scumbags who steal from family, and fucks over good people who help their family. We've already figured out how to transact fairly, it's called the market, it's called contracts, it's called currency. Don't barter, don't make verbal agreements, don't participate in communism.
