Yup police will be seen mostly on Walking street.. Soi 6 sometimes.. I had 2 experiences with cops in Thailand.. the 1st one in Pattaya when I lost my phone in a Bolt Taxi.. Luckily, I got it back.. But not thanks to the police officer but because I realized quickly that I could find a better and faster way to get it back.. And the second one in between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai on a highway. The cops controlled every vehicles.. And I was in a Taxi, I got out the Taxi with the taxi driver.. asked few questions to the taxi man saw my ID and that I was a EU citizen.. Didn't control the car or my bag.. And he did nothing, released us.. Because it's nearby Myanmar, Laos.. Where "Yaba" Methampethamine is smuggled and transported in these areas.. So the cops try their best to stop it.. I never looked for troubles there.. I solved many.. Because I'm polyglot.. So I communicate with Basically every tourist hahaha.. Even the Russians were surprised and thought I was some kind of NATO spy.. Because many veterans or off duty go to Pattaya / Jomtien for their holidays.. Some left Russia / Ukraine.. And it was just it made me realize I didn't waste my time learning Russian.. It helped build great connections there.. I know a few guys there who have their businesses for decades.. One good advice.. Stay away from the cops.. Don't call cops or let cops get involved in conflict situations.. Because they will ask a bribe at best.. In my case If things would have gone really really south with russian guy in that bar.. I would have been on the Bangkok Post / Pattaya TV etc hahahaha for stopping it the best I could.. @magot: No its more something like in the Obiwan Series.. You avoid any kind of attention on yourself.. Police, Military, mob + royal family control the country.. Even if you decide to start a business in Pattaya for example, you need to pay a cop for protection or talk to the local mob to open your business.. It all depends on the place you go.. Redlight districts always indicate the heavy presence of the mob and police in even the surrounding areas.. That's why if the Russian guy wouldn't have paid.. The first ones to start the brawl are the girls.. Then the Moto taxi guys on the side.. Then security.. And finally cops come.. And he would have been jailed.. The cops would drain all his money in jail by lying and torturing him mentally.. At some point some tourists in these situations give thousands of euros in total to the cops.. So behind the curtains, there an entire economy, hierarchy, system that operates and makes the place successful.. But drunk and stupid mongers, don't see that.. That's why they fall for any bargirls bullshit.. Some even lose their entire savings for their pension.. Pattaya for example plays on men's emotions and desires.. It's very difficult to say no to a cute girl with her hand 2 cm away from your dick while she explain how she's going to blow you etc.. You gotta be mentally strong and have values ! It's 90% bullshit, made up stories etc these girls will tell you.. They are there for your money.. Once you close the tab they leave you faster than Batman.. The Mamasans are analyzing robots.. They will spot your weaknesses and strenghts.. The girls there if they are new are dumb.. So everytime you ask for a glass or pay a lady drink she goes to the bar where she gets a short briefing on what to do with you.. They study you.. If you do something bad or disrespect.. They have an incredible network of people, informers.. You'll be found and face terrible consequences.. Police will also be aware but will let you in the hands of the mob.. Same thing when I was there.. I rarely trusted tourists.. You never know in what kind shitty situation you might end up.. So I was alone or with my girls.. Sometimes with 1 French/German and another one from Holland guy I met there.. We would go to the Gogo's together and many bars.. It was to protect ourselves from Fake tabs, disputes, scams etc.. Mostly in Nana and Soi cowboy.. In Pattaya.. Nobody tried to scam me.. So I could go by myself most of the time..
