The term is "Planned obsolescence" in other words MADE TO BREAK! So you'll have to buy a replacement sooner rather than later!

Because the economists and accountants figured out that disposable planned obsolescence in engineering and manufacturing was more profitable (at least in the short-term). And since they don't give a shit about the preservation of civilization - only their own bottom-line within their own lifetimes - you see where it's led us.
Old things are always far better made so they will last...just take a look at me!
