Alive is a 1993 American biographical survival drama film based on Piers Paul Read's 1974 book Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors, which details a Uruguayan rugby team's crash aboard Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 into the Andes mountains on October 13, 1972.

Well made film I remember when it came out, it was made with respect
I am just having all these flash backs from the "Towering Inferno" and the "Big Ships" rolling over in the huge waves and they lay there upside down etc.. "The Posiedon Adventure". These types of movies from the post crash rescue scenes, inside the plane at ~15:00.

It put me off the 'Keto' diet for a while, after watching this film....
I bought the book when it was first published, and then watched the movie - at the cinema - when it came out.....
I thought the book came out in 1973 and the movie in a similar vintage..... not 1997.
Anyway.....
The book and movie were good material.....
