A Masters used to mean something, back in the days before IdPol ruled the day. Nowadays it's a chain around one's throat, weighing one down with debt. I say that as a person with multiple degrees (three AS gained while on active duty). Not that an education has no value, because it looks good on a resume. However they've become so cheap and accessible to so many, their sheer ubiquity makes them a baseline for most "decent" jobs.
