There isn't a good way of breaking out of nested loops in C, and that's where goto is meant to be used as far as I know (probably while it's used in lower level linux). I remember my freshman year of computer science I used goto in C and my instuctor said something along the lines of " I haven't seen this one in a long time". I don' t know if there's a need for goto in modern languages, I know it's been removed from javascript, don't know about other languages.
