The manual steps involved in the process in these Indian videos are pretty cool because it shows how it was probably done before advanced manufacturing in the west. Kinda shows the evolution of manufacturing. Like how did they craft the first precision metal tool? I mean there must have been a point in time where only a single advanced tool existed which was used to craft the other tools. Like if I break a wrench, I go get another one I have or go buy one, but imagine a world where a precision sized wrench and the tooling to make it is rather rare. Just a thought. I am also worried about the overall alloy of the metal used to form these rings. Modern engines use piston rings with very particular alloy make up, likewise the bearings.
