This is the guy who had posted the video --- https://www.youtube.com/@VictorMochere/shorts -------- AND there are a lot of FAKE giant octopus videos on Jewtube..... AND I did a fairly extensive search for tidal zone / octopus / squid / beach sand / and other things - AND in all of my life - I have NEVER seen an octopus type creature like this.... I have done a LOT of searches and images etc..... Never seen anything like that. I would LIKE it if it was real and --- as yet there is NOTHING about it on the NEWLY discovered list either..... Soooooooooooo AND the breathing tube.... I think ONE of the give aways that it would always be getting into the sand, BELOW the low tide level.... water breathing animals, like breathing water, not air, and strong sunshine for 8 hours....... It also has a strong resemblance to the monster that was birthed by that chick in aliens, that grows up to capture and put a parasite inside one of the engineers..... in Promethius.

@clivemcd: That breathing tube, it could be a king tide - an extraordinarily LOW tide, followed by an extraordinarily high, high tide....... Maybe it was caught out... by the extra LOW 20cm.... than usual low tides..... BUT you'd think also that this is such freak out material - that as soon as it would have been discovered, that it would have gone all around the world..... And a lot of people would be going, "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh My God!" But I have never heard anything about it ever..... EITHER. You can take this video to cephlapod experts and ask them if it is a known species...... I am not saying it's not real, I have my doubts, but I would rather have it confirmed by multiple expert sources, as being a genuine fake, or to have found the one expert who says, "Yes they are found off the coast of the Congo over some 100 Km of tidal zone coast line". It's worth a look. The Video Size is small - go ask.

@clivemcd: I was going to denounce the SQUID (???) as fakes because I had not studied them close enough, and did not recollect any suckers on the arms.... BUT upon closer examination, this critter has HOOKS on it's arms.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cephalopod_attack --------- https://img-fotki.yandex.ru/ge....t/15593/3692493.4a/0 https://scx2.b-cdn.net/gfx/new....s/2019/squidteamfin. Yeah Horse Shoe Crabs are a REAL thing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horseshoe_crab ------ https://s00.yaplakal.com/pics/....pics_original/0/5/7/

@clivemcd: Maybe it's dead - as in fresh dead..... for something "alive" - it didn't thrash around one iota when it was getting dragged out of the sand. AND I have done some extensive work with different silicone rubbers, well that breathing syphon above the sand, looks and "feels" like a cast white silicone rubber..... It's very firm and "springs back" unlike the softer flesh of a molusk. BUT the colour patterns underneath it could also be the near instant colour changes of the squids skin.... Maybe it died, got buried by the sand and was getting pulled out....

It is strange how the guy knows exactly where the "neck" would be to pull it out of the sand after only seeing the tiny bit above the sand. Can be fresh dead like you mention. Also never seen anything like this.

@clivemcd: I forgot the point I was making.... Maybe it is a real one that got buried by the sand as it lay dying in the low surf in the tidal zone........ OR maybe it is a cast silicone rubber - a theatrical prop / pretend specimen for a museum etc., and people were extracting it from the sand...... But that breather spout - that looks like a cast silicone for parts like low pressure water valves etc... https://davidneat.wordpress.co....m/wp-content/uploads

@clivemcd: BUT squid, AFTER it is skun at the fish processing factory - does have a similar colour to the white silicones - but it is also dead and floppy... https://dqzrr9k4bjpzk.cloudfro....nt.net/images/164723
