Not sure of your phone settings, but my phone will overheat, on HIGH resolution videos that go for an hour etc., especially on a warm day.
The solution - close up videos do not need to be in high resolution, with crystal clear HD images...
Turn it the video resolution down (making this up) from 1980 x 1020 to something like 720 x 640, that way your CMOS, your video processing / CPU chips are using way less power and way less heat can flow out for a much longer etc.
AND your file sizes will be way smaller.... Instead of 240 Meg for 3 minutes, you can get 40 meg etc.
You ONLY need super high resolution for HUGE AREAS and LOTS of SCENERY and DETAIL.....
For close up of self.... Mehhhhhh - Unless it's a "I have cancer kiddies and I am going to be dead soon and I will never get to see you grow up - so I am making these videos for you top remember me by" - that is about the only time high resolution close up self videos are good....
